What did TechSolutions do for simplyEstate?
We were hired to optimize the speed of simplyEstate. This website like most of the WordPress websites were slow and it wasn’t passing Core Web Vitals. Ask any SEO expert you know and they will tell you how important passing Core Web Vitals is, if the word “Core” isn’t enough.

Passed, lovely is it not? There are a few things we’ve done to get these desired results.
Basically, there are 2 types of speed and often these 2 types of speed are not at all related to each other. This is why you can have a fast website with poor PageSpeed scores and a slow website with perfect PageSpeed scores.
The 2 types of speed are:
- Online speed
- Offline speed
I bet you didn’t expect these namings, we did not either! (we just made them up to explain things easier)
So, online speed is how fast you deliver the website files to the visitors which depends on a few factors like the server, the location of the server, CDNs and server-side caching.
Offline speed will require a few more sentences, bear with us. So, all the files are downloaded, after that, the online speed is out of the equation. Now, your browser, that’s using your computer’s resources (CPU, Ram etc.), is going to use these files to display you the website content.
The browser will use computing power(Cpu, ram) to interpet HTML, CSS and JS. (they are known as front-end languages because your computer is running them)
So, presume that your website has 100 pages with different css & html & js, and you load all these assets on all pages. What would happen? Visitors’ computers would have to interpret codes that are not even used on that page!
And, that’s how WordPress plugins work, all assets and plugins load globally! They don’t have to but it’s easier for plugin developers to not worry about that, so, that’s how majority of the plugins work, unfortunately.
So, we’ve improved the speed of simplyEstate by:
Configuring WP Rocket and Cloudflare for Online speed and analysing assets, plugins and loading important assets earlier. We will share more details on a blog post later , no spoilers!
